This Beautiful Austin Healey 100/4 BN1 completed build on 24th February 1954 and was first registered as a North American (Canadian) vehicle in LHD. It was bought in 2015 by the current owner from the second owner in North America who had already taken care of the bodywork and repainted it. The first owner had owned it for 50 years!  The rest of the car was rebuilt with a photographic record of the build, along with the invoices and history, and it was converted to RHD. The build and file is very impressive, this is a truly lovely looking Austin Healey.

The engine sounds sweet and starts immediately without any hesitation whatsoever. It has been converted to run on unleaded and has been finished in green as it should be, and the entire engine bay is exactly as you could hope for if you bought this car to show, or bought it to drive, or both. Pride has clearly been taken in the restoration and throughout the gentlemans ownership, and the only reason he has decided to part with it is because age has made it difficult for him to drive and keep the car to the standard of condition that he has to date, and he is unwilling to allow it to fall into disrepair.

We have a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate in a comprehensive lever arch file which also contains a certificate for 'Best in show' for a classic car show in 2018.  The tonneau cover is like new and fits very well, with the poppers in all the correct places and a zip down the middle so you can drive it with half the interior covered. The hood also looks almost like new, and the owner has clevery made and fitted discreet brackets that enable the roof to be lifted clear of the car very simply and without any fuss, which is a wonderful idea well executed.

The boot area is properly lined, and looks good, and the bonnet, boot and doors open and close nicely. Being a BN1, it has the 3 speed manual gearbox with overdrive in 2nd and third, effectively giving the car 5 gears, and the overdrive can be set to automatic.

It was serviced on 28.06.2023 which is recorded in the file, and having dipped the oil, it looks as clear as honey.  This really is a very pretty turn key and drive Austin Healey, and a credit to her owner who would very much like to see her go to a good home and survive the next 50 years.
